Abstract
Recently, authors experienced two patients of metastatic gastric cancer presented with
microangiopathic hemolytic anemia.
The anemia is a group of hemolytic anemias characterized by erythrocyte
fragmentation in the peripheral blood smears, usually with thrombocytopenia.
Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia is apparently a rare complication in metastatic
carcinoma ; it may be the presenting sign of carcinoma and may indicate metastasis in
patients with previously diagnosed cancer.
